Casas colgadas, Cuenca, Spain

Standing on a ravine over the Huecar river, these “hanged houses” seem to fight against gravity. Some while ago there were hanged houses all over the ravine that faced the river, but most of them have now disappeared. Still, while standing on the bridge that crosses the river, feeling a thin rain over you, you could easily imagine how this place was during those days.

Although they already existed in the XV century, only three of these houses remain, and after a deep remodeling at the beginning of the XX century.

By the way, the grille of the window at the right side was made by my great-grandfather.
